Fallow Deer bucks are normally more difficult to get close enough to for photography without the use of a hide but I was lucky to find a group of bucks that were reasonably tolerant provided I moved slowly and kept a reasonable distance. Thankfully I had the 800mm lens on the Canon R5. Muntjac are much more difficult to photograph being so much smaller, more wary and always mostly in cover. Luckily when sat down on a track photographing Fallow Deer a male Muntjac came close enough to photograph and it was in the open. If you spend enough time out in the field, you will get lucky, eventually!
