Another less visited place on the Isle of Sky is the Hunish Peninsula on the northern tip of Skye. To get to the lower peninsula is an hours walk and then a scramble down the Basalt cliffs. From here there are great views across to the Outer Hebrides, unfortunately mainly shrouded in cloud on our visit, and views back to the cliffs we had descended. Rather oddly we thought there is an old coastguard lookout on the top of the cliffs which is quite a way from the sea. We got very wet on the way back to the car which was made worse as I had left the car window fully open after watching a pair of White Tailed Eagles from the car. Thankfully the electrics survived after a lot of mopping down and we had nothing worse than a very wet seat on the drive back to our cottage.
