The view to the Cuillin Hills from Elgol on the Isle of Skye is a classic and has been photographed many times. Indeed when we were there in March there was a steady trickle of photographers doing the same and most of them went right from the car park around the cliffs. Even in March it must have been difficult for them not to get in each others way so goodness knows what it is like in the summer. We then decided to go left from the car park and clamber down to the rocks where we thought there was just as good a view and we were on our own. The much anticipated golden sunset did not appear but we tried to make the best of the available light. One of my favourite images was of the small waterfall on the way down to the beach. The colours of the rock were enhanced by the water and the evening light.
